CLASSES

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

At Uprising MMA training center, our Strength and Conditioning classes are designed to help athletes improve their general physical preparedness for combat sports. Our workouts are built on 4-6 week periodization cycles to ensure that athletes are consistently progressing and reaching their goals. We use a variety of techniques to improve fitness, including weight training, yoga poses, breathing techniques, isometric movements, calisthenics, and cardiovascular exercise.

Required Equipment:
To participate in our Strength and Conditioning classes, students will need the following equipment:

  • Workout clothing: Students should wear comfortable, breathable clothing that allows for a full range of movement.
  • Running/lifting shoes: Proper footwear is essential for safe and practical training. Students should wear shoes that are appropriate for their chosen activities. We train barefoot on the mat most of the time, but we do step out to drill outside or on the bikes, so it’s always recommended to bring shoes.

BOXING

Our Boxing classes at Uprising MMA training center offer a high-intensity workout that conditions the body and burns calories. During these classes, students will participate in various drills that involve delivering jab, cross, hook, and uppercut combinations on our 100-pound heavy bags. This full-body workout is designed to challenge and improve physical fitness. One of our knowledgeable teachers leads each class, guiding students through the drills and offering direction and comments to help them improve their technique. Our lessons suit all skill levels and provide a challenging and enjoyable workout.

​BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU

Brazilian Jiujitsu is a grappling and ground fighting-based martial art, combat sport, and self-defense technique. It is designed to allow a smaller, weaker person to defend themselves against a larger, stronger opponent using the proper method, leverage, joint locks, and chokeholds to defeat the assailant. In Brazilian Jit-Jitsu, fighters work to achieve stable positions from which they can execute various specific techniques designed to improve their situation or apply finishing submissions. These submissions can include chokes, arm locks, and leg locks and are designed to trap the opponent and force them to “tap out” or submit.
Our Brazilian Jiujitsu classes at Uprising MMA training center are suitable for students of all levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners. Technique, drilling, position advancement, and sparring will all be thoroughly explained by our qualified instructors. Students will have the chance to practice their newly acquired skills in carefully supervised rolling sessions, with classes focusing on laying a solid foundation of knowledge, abilities, and techniques. Students can anticipate strengthening, endurance, coordination, and self-defense abilities improvement by taking our BJJ classes.

Required Equipment:

  • Brazilian Jiujitsu kimono is also known as a gi and is a traditional uniform worn during training and competition in Jiu-Jitsu. It consists of a heavy cotton jacket and pants.
  • Shorts should be worn under the gi pants during training.
  • Rash guard: It is a lightweight shirt that can be worn under the gi to help prevent irritation or rashes from the fabric.
  • Sandals should be worn in the training area to keep the mat clean. Removing shoes before entering the training area is essential to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.

MUAY THAI

Muay Thai is a Thai martial art that includes stand-up striking and clinching techniques. It is known as the “art of 8 limbs” because it utilizes fists, elbows, knees, shins, and feet as weapons. Training regimens for Muay Thai often include running, shadowboxing, rope jumping, bodyweight resistance exercises, medicine ball exercises, abdominal exercises, and sometimes weight training. Muay Thai is a physically demanding sport requiring a high fitness level and toughness.
Our Muay Thai classes at Uprising MMA training center suit students of all levels. They are designed to help students develop their skills and improve their fitness. Our experienced instructors will lead students through heavy bag drills, Thai pad/focus mitt work, partner drills, and sparring to help them develop their technique and improve their conditioning.

JUDO

Judo is a modern martial art, combat sport, and Olympic discipline that originated in Japan. Its goal is to throw or takedown an opponent to the ground, immobilize them, or subdue them with a pin, joint lock, or choke. Judo is unique in that it does not use kicks or punches but instead relies on the weight, balance, and momentum of the opponent to achieve maximum effectiveness with minimal effort.
At Uprising MMA training center, our Judo classes are suitable for students of all levels and are designed to help students develop their skills and improve their physical fitness. Our experienced instructors will lead students through warm-up and cool-down exercises, as well as basic judo throwing techniques and mat techniques.

We believe in learning by doing. While technique is crucial, true progress is made through application. Live sparring (“rolling”) and situational drilling are core components of our classes, ensuring you can execute techniques effectively against a resisting opponent.
